The Other Civilization is a possible alien civilization introduced in R-Type Tactics II: Operation Bitter Chocolate. The Other Civilization may possibly be the reason why the humans of the 26th century created the Bydo to fight against them in the first place, although there is also the possibility that they were just an alien race that were at war with the Bydo. So far, they've only appeared in the Bydo Campaign of R-Type Tactics II.
The Civilization's home planet resides in a binary star system. Going off missions 8-15, the system contains (at the very least) two asteroid belts (one at the edge), three planets (Other Civilization Homeworld, an Ice planet and a planet of unknown composition with a decaying, Bydo infested city on it) and a Black Hole.

The Other Civilization are introduced later in the game by attacking a Bydo Armada after the exit the Bydo Dimension back into regular space. Despite the Other Civilization's advanced weapons, the Bydo Armada later defeats them. However, when the Bydo Armada reaches their homeworld, they leave the planet intact; apparently satisfied that they have come face to face with the Other Civilization on their own homeworld.

Trivia:
- While it is never stated in game what stellar class the stars in the Other Civilization home system are, the orange/yellow colour of both could indicate that they are either K-class (like the real life 61 Cygni) or (going off Tactics II's depiction of our Sun) G-class stars.
- It is unknown if the Bydo infested City in mission 9 (Decayal) belonged to a fellow civilization that called the planet home or if it was an Other Civilization planetary colony lost to the Bydo during their war with them. However, considering the technology level of the Other Civilization and the possibility that the 2 stars and Black Hole in the system would severely reduce planetary habitability points to the latter being the more likely reason for the City's existence.
- Considering that the map shows (what is most likely) the Other Civilization home planet in close proximity to the Black Hole, there is a chance that they are using it as a power source to meet their large energy needs.
- While there are some theories amongst fans that the Other Civilization is actually 26th Century Humanity, this is unlikely as the system is a binary system instead of single. Also, the ice planet is far too different from Mars as it has bluish ice and bodies of water.
