This boss is waiting in the Space Ship. It launches reflecting lasers by using its lenses.

Prisoner is a gun wall core and is the boss of Giant Space Ship in Super R-Type. It can shoot energy beams.

History During the Bydo Wars

After the Green Inferno was destroyed in R-Type and R-Type Delta, the Bydo realize that they need to further increase their defenses by gathering more battleships and used them to conquer planets as part of their second invasion campaign. While the Green Inferno has its core exposed, these new Bydo warships are far stronger (most of which are rendered to be highly indestructible) and come in a variety of every shape and size imaginable. The exact details surrounding the origins of these battleships has yet to be confirmed. Whether their schematics have been stolen by the Bydo or not is still unclear.

In the end of Giant Space Ship, it will lead you inside the battleship's core, this time it has shields and 4 turrets. The shields act like lenses; the first one shoots 3 shots in a wide range that bounce around the room, the second one shoots 3 shots in a wider angle,(five on harder difficulties). After these are destroyed, the Prisoner functions identically to the Warship Core from the original R-Type.
