The Blue Pod is a Bit Device first seen in Image Fight, an Irem game released in 1988, and absent until R-Type Final.

Description

Test model made during development of the Red Pod. Normal and Pod shots are possible, but the direction cannot be controlled.

Usage

Abbreviated as B in the armament. The Blue Pod simply fires a pair of bolts forward. It cannot block enemy projectiles.

The Blue Pod can be selected by OF-1 Daedalus, OFX-2 Valkyrie, OF-3 Garuda and OF-5 Kaguya. For some reason OFX-4 Songoku cannot use the Blue Pod.
